Serolsar Lake

Serolsar Lake, tucked away deep in the forests near Jalori Pass in Himachal Pradesh, is a serene and sacred high-altitude lake located at an elevation of around 3,100 meters (10,170 feet). Surrounded by dense oak and deodar trees, the lake is known for its crystal-clear waters that remain pure and undisturbed throughout the year — even when thousands visit. According to local legend, not even a single leaf is seen floating on the water’s surface, as birds are believed to keep it immaculately clean. The lake holds religious significance due to the presence of the temple of Budhi Nagin, the guardian deity of the lake, who is deeply revered by the locals. Reaching Serolsar Lake requires a 5 km scenic trek from Jalori Pass, winding through enchanting alpine forests, making it a favorite destination for nature lovers, hikers, and spiritual seekers. The peaceful setting, mythological charm, and untouched beauty of Serolsar Lake make it a true hidden gem of the Himalayas.
